Perge
Ruins of ancient site Perge lies about 15 km east of Antalya. The site is near Aksu village. To reach Aksu village dolmus can be taken from Antalya and it is a few minutes walk from Aksu village to Perge. You can visit Perge ancient city between 9:00 and 17:00 during all days in a week. Entrance costs 10 TL.
When you enter Perge, the first thing you will realize is the great Roman theatre with 14,000 seat capacity. Theatre was used for entertainment, gladiatorial shows and combats with wild animals. On the north east of the theatre is horseshoe shaped stadium with 12,000 seat capacity. Stadium is in a very good condition and it is one of the best preserved stadiums in Anatolia.
Tomb of Plancia Magna, Byzantine Basilica, Agora, Roman Baths, Hellenistic Gate are other ruins in Perge worth to see. Hellenistic Gate consists of two huge towers and is a part of the city's defense system.
