Phaselis
After leaving Kemer, it takes only 12 km to reach Phaselis. After you turn around the detour from "Phaselis" signpost, you will come across a very fascinating ancient town. Phaselis is located 1 km away from highway on the Mediterranean coast. There is a parking area in the entrance.
Phaselis is founded by Rhodians in 690 BC. Town has three harbours. The one you face with in the entrance of the town is old harbour. It's also known as North Harbour. Just next to it, on the right side is the Small Harbour and at the end of harbours street is the South Harbour.
Town is full of pine trees, therefore you can stay comfortable even in hot Summer days.
Following structures in Phaselis are worth seeing: Ancient walls surrounding the town from sea. The walls were built to protect the town from pirate attacks. Aqueduct at the entrance of the town. The street between Middle and South harbours. Hadrian Gate near South Harbour. The ancient theatre on the sea side of the Harbour Street. Acropolis on the top of Phaselis hill and the Agora next to South Harbour.
If you advance 3 km to the west of Phaselis, you will come across Tekirova holiday resort. There are many hotels and holiday villages in Tekirova. You can also find cafes, restaurants, shopping centers around hotels.
